2 Day Ashtanga Workshop

$150.00

(RE) START YOUR YOGA PRACTICE

Sept 19-20, 2026

Saturday 10a-12p/1p-3p and Sunday 9a-11a/12p-2p

In this workshop we’ll explore a practical way to structure a daily yoga practice using a simple four-part template derived from Ashtanga Vinyasa: Sun Salutations, Standing Poses, Seated Poses and Finishing Poses. When you approach practice through this framework, you don’t need to perform a long list of postures to receive the benefits. By representing each section—some sun salutations, a few standing poses, a handful of seated poses and a short finishing—you maintain the integrity of the practice while adapting it to your time, energy and circumstances.

Over the course of the workshop we’ll work with a short sequence of foundational poses that form the roots of a strong and sustainable practice. These basic postures contain tremendous depth when practiced with care and attention. Keeping it simple will allow you to access what really matters, an enjoyable and repeatable time on the yoga mat.

We’ll explore key principles of posture and movement, including foundation, breath, spinal awakening and the use of opposing forces. Emphasis will be placed on building strength and clarity in the basics, recognizing that the more complex poses grow naturally from these roots.

Technique helps protect the body and refine movement, but the deeper aim of yoga is inward connection—turning attention toward the present moment through posture and breath.

By valuing the fundamentals and practicing them well, you develop a practice that is adaptable, sustainable and capable of supporting you for a lifetime.

Teachers: Shawn Green and Chelsea Patton

Location: Dharma Punx OKC Meditation Center, 324 W Hefner Rd, Suite C in Oklahoma City, OK 73113
