Sundays, 11a-12p in July
Over the course of this workshop series, we’ll explore a practical and approachable way to build a sustainable Ashtanga practice using a simple four-part template derived from the tradition of Ashtanga Vinyasa: Sun Salutations, Standing Postures, Seated Postures and Finishing Postures.
Each Sunday we’ll focus on one of the four, allowing the understanding to naturally build and transfer:
July 5: Sun Salutations
July 12: Standing Postures
July 19: Seated Postures
July 26: Finishing Postures
Together, we’ll work with several foundational postures, learning the value of progressing in steps and how to skillfully use props and modifications to support your individual body and circumstances. Emphasis will be placed on building strength, stability and clarity in the basics, appreciating that more complex poses come from these roots.
While technique can help support and protect the body, the deeper aim of yoga is inward connection — using posture and breath as a way to steady attention and return to the present moment. This workshop invites a practice that is accessible, sustainable and rooted in understanding rather than performance.
